Fact is, keeping our appetite in check doesn't always help
either. No sooner than we make a serious
attempt to lose weight by drastically cutting
calories our body sends out emergency starvation
signals telling it to "hoard" instead of
burn fat —precisely the opposite of what
we want it to do. This is a body response
that evolved to help us survive times of
famine. But in modern times it just makes
us overweight. Can we escape the dilemma
and burn our fat reserves at will? Is there
a way to freely lose unwanted fat and prevent
our metabolism from floundering?
Identifying the problem
It is not exactly true to say that the body
is unable to metabolize it's stored fat
when the situation warrants it. In fact,
most of us can do it to some degree—at least
initially. The problem is it simply doesn't
last.
What is the solution?
It is now known that the body's ability
to metabolize stored fat is undermined by
a deficiency of key vita-nutrients that
cannot be obtained in the required amounts
from ordinary diets. It is also known that
this deficiency enters a chronic stage much
faster and more often in women than it does
in men. This is due to the woman's monthly
menstrual cycle which continually draws
on a nutrient pool that is often deficient
from start. Contrary to conventional wisdom
women have higher body fat ratios and are
more prone to weight gain not as a direct
role of female hormones but because of a
shortage of these dwindling vital nutrients.
With each cycle soaking up more nutrients
each month the desire to stay slim becomes
even more unattainable.
Moreover, with each pregnancy the situation
goes from bad to worse. That is why, even
though some women with one or two children
may still be able to retain a slim figure
with a carefully watched diet, many more
gain a considerable amount of weight. Of
those with three or more children, few manage
to stay slim, no matter how rigorous their
attempt to diet and eat right.
Whether you are a male or female, it is
not that you are lacking in will power,
but rather in vita-nutrients that cannot
be obtained in the right amounts through
ordinary means. It is unfair to label yourself
as somebody who lacks perseverance and motivation.
Under such circumstances you really had
no choice—until now!
